After many years of dining at The Minturn Country Club, we have discovered that it is always a treat to have lots of spoons when eating the Minturn Tater. After a big steak dinner cooked on the grill, the dessert tops it off. Chocolate chip ice cream shaped like a baked potato rolled in sweetened cocoa, smothered in whipped cream and sprinkled with nuts caused our family to act like a bunch of piranhas while scarfing it down. Two year old Griffin was offered a bite, but refused. We all knew he would love it if he would try it, but instead he was demanding something quite different. He had spotted a small cup filled with a white substance that looked like it could be a kiddie cup of vanilla ice cream, but he was wrong. We tried to coax him toward something else, but he would not give up and the cries got louder and louder. Finally he was given the container of sour cream. Owning a bed and breakfast was a dream of mine for many years. It sounded exciting to have a place filled with visitors from all over the country or even the world. I wanted to have a home where people could come for rest and refreshment, but the door was never opened for me to own a place where people would come and pay to stay at my cute Victorian cottage or my log cabin or my country inn. Yet even though I don’t own a bed and breakfast, God has still granted me the desire of my heart. No, I might not get paid to have people come and stay with me, but I do have visitors from all over who come to visit throughout the year. Some are people that I have known forever, while others come as strangers but leave as “forever friends.”  God has blessed me with lots of rooms that can be filled. Lynn on Will's EzyRoller My grandson got an EzyRoller for His birthday. If you are not familiar with this toy, it is a low to the ground riding toy. The device moves like a snake, gliding with a back and forth motion using easy right/left movements of the feet. Now you are probably wondering why I am telling you about the gift. Well there is a point to the story, but we have to go back a few years. When my daughter Lynn was a child, a friend of hers had an EzyRoller that she loved. In fact she really wanted one of her own, but as parents we never knew that she wanted it. To this day if asked if there was something that she wanted and never got that glider would be her answer. Perhaps there is still be a bit of resentment that she didn’t get that particular toy, but since she never expressed her longing to us we were unable to read her mind and grant her request.
