Should God Be First in Your Life? The Answer Might Surprise You.
Last week I heard Wes Roberts say that we are not supposed to put God first in our lives. This made me perk up a bit to hear what else he was going to say. After all, most churches teach that God is supposed to be first in our lives. So was he preaching heresy or was he going to enlighten me? As he spoke he said that the closest thing the Bible says about putting God first is in Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Wes wasn’t trying to tell us that God should not have importance or significance in our lives, but his point was that if we only put God in first position we are leaving Him out of a good portion of our day. In other words, if we spend time with Him first thing in the morning what about all of the rest of our day?
