"Who is you?"
We never knew if he really thought we were someone important or if this was just his normal daily activity to harass people on the street. But to answer his question, we are nobodies. Wait a minute—rewind; we are not nobodies, we are mothers, children, sisters, friends, teachers, et cetera, but most importantly we are children of God. Do you know what that means? We are daughters of a King, the King of the universe.
While visiting Houston recently, I noticed that my granddaughter, Molly, would get dressed for the day, always including her tiara, with matching jewels and of course her princess shoes. At two and a half, Molly does not realize her position in Christ, but she does know that she is loved and cherished by the people in her life. She has value and significance even if it is in her own little kingdom realm of home.
Maybe Molly is on to something; maybe those of us who are daughters of the King should flaunt it, not with fake crowns, but with our words and our actions. If we would only speak words of kindness and encouragement and perform acts of service to those in need, our Father‘s reputation would improve and His ratings would go up. Would you join me today in showing others who you are?
1 John 3:1a How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
