Back to Reality

In April of 2010 I was let go from my job—downsizing they call it and yes it does have that feeling…you are being cut down to size. It is humbling and challenging to be terminated, especially in a bad economy. What were the prospects of finding a job in a small community such as mine? But God had other plans in mind; He determined that it was time for me to begin the ministry opportunity that He had placed on my heart several years prior.  My daughter told me about a Proverbs 31 Conference called She Speaks put on for women just like me—women whom God had called into a variety of ministry opportunities. I was on their site registering for it immediately, not knowing how I could possibly afford it, but God provided. She Speaks

Have you ever noticed that we talk a lot? Often times it is women that get blamed for talking too much, but if you ever watch TV talk shows, I think there are many men who like to hear themselves droning on and on too. In doing a bit of research I found that we probably select from a vocabulary of about 500 words a day, but many of them are used multiple times during the day, so the World Wide Web told me that the number actually spoken in a day could range from between 1,500 and 24,000 words. Someone named “loz” on the Internet did the math and figured out that approximately one million billion words have been uttered in the last thousand years. Her math was too high for me, so I couldn't check her on it, but anyway….enough said about this. I am just wasting words here and what I really want to get to tell you about is my weekend.
